This guide relies on the concepts covered in Getting Started in your VDC environment.
Virtual Machines are virtualised instances of an operating system, using logically provided CPU, RAM, Disk and Memory. You can operate a VM without operating in a vApp but we strongly recommend you create a vApp as part of your deployment. Refer to the Creating vApps in VDC here for more information.
Within Data Centers -> Compute -> Virtual Machines -> Select New VM to enter the VM creation wizard. 
You can utilise some of our built-in template images, or choose and define your own. For example, an Alma 9-based VM from the list of available templates called “db-01”:

Or if you have your own ISO, select Type: New and define a Boot Image.

Scroll down to identify more customisation options such as Storage, Compute, and Network options.

Click OK when ready, and it will begin creating the VM within your VDC:
