This guide details the process of manually starting an Acronis backup for your protected workload.
Running a backup on demand is useful for ensuring your up-to-date data is protected, or just testing if backups are working in the first place.
Acronis backups must be installed and functioning on your server before this guide can be followed.
Two different ways to complete this are included in this guide.
This method can be used for all types of protected workloads.
This method can be used for Linux servers running cPanel & WHM.
Starting a backup via the Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud portal
NOTICE: The steps in this section of the guide can only be completed by an Acronis portal user with Cyber Protection Administrator or User permissions.
However, a Cyber Protection User will only be able to view protected workloads associated with his or her self.
Log in to the Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud portal, found here:

How to access the Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud portal
On the left-hand navigation bar, click “Devices”.

Select the relevant server from the device list.

On the right-hand actions bar, click “Protect”.

To start a backup, click “Run now”.

The backup operation should begin.
This is indicated by the light blue status box shown below:
If you can see the “Backing up” text, a backup has successfully started on the Acronis agent!
Starting a backup via the WHM Acronis Dashboard
This section of the guide only pertains to Linux servers running cPanel & WHM.
Navigate to your server’s WHM interface.
Find the Acronis Backup plugin by searching for “Acronis” in the left-hand navigation bar.

Under the Next Backup section, click “Run now”.

The backup operation should begin.
