This guide relates to restorations within WHM via the Acronis plugin.

To begin, log in to WHM and enter “plugins” or similar into the search box at the top left.
Then click on the Acronis Backup plugin link on the left, then click the Backups tab on the main page.

Click on the backup you would like to restore from. In this example, we will use the latest backup at the top.

Click on the “Restore” option; in this example, we will choose to restore “Files”.
In WHM, this option allows for the restoration of any files from the server's backup, or just for a particular cPanel domain or account if done from cPanel.

It may take some time for the backup to be loaded.

Navigate through the backups until you find the files you wish to restore - In this example, we will be restoring the entire “public_html” directory for the “acronisexample” user at “/home/acronisexample/” - for cPanel/WHM servers, this is usually the webroot for the domain’s website.
This is only an example; you may not need to restore the entire “public_html” directory and can restore specific files/directories as necessary.Once you have made your selection(s), click the Recover button at the top left.

A pop-up box will appear asking if you would like to remove any files not present in the backup. This is a useful option in cases such as:
Your site has been breached, and harmful files have been introduced.
You’ve added a new plugin or theme to your site, which has caused issues with your current files.
You wish to restore the website to an earlier version entirely.
When you are ready for the files to be recovered, click the Start recovery button.

You will see a notice while the recovery is running and again when it is completed.
