This guide relates to restorations within WHM. The procedure is almost the same for cPanel accounts, but it involves using the Acronis link found in the cPanel account and restricts the restoration to data contained within that specific cPanel account.

To begin, log in to WHM and enter “plugins” or similar into the search box at the top left.
Then click on the Acronis Backup plugin link on the left, then click the Backups tab on the main page.

Click on the backup you would like to restore from. In this example, we will use the latest backup at the top.

Click on the “Restore” option; in this example, we will choose to restore “Databases”.
This option allows for the restoration of databases contained within the backup.

Tick the database you would like to restore and then click Recover.
This example depicts one database; however, in practice, there are usually many.
After you select Recover, a dialogue box will appear with additional options.

If you are reverting a database to a previous version and are okay with replacing all of its existing data:
You should also check the “Recover database users” option before clicking “Start recovery”
This means you won't have to manually set the user permissions in cPanel after the database restore is complete.

If you prefer not to restore and overwrite the existing database:
You can select the option to “Add suffix to the recovered database name,” then input a suffix before clicking “Start recovery.”
This will restore the database as an additional new database within the same cPanel account.
For instance, if this option were used for this example database “acronisexample_wordpress”, with the suffix “test”, the new database would be created as “acronisexample_wordpresstest.”

You will see a notice while the recovery is running and again when it is completed.
