cPanel monitors disk space usage for your entire account. This includes email accounts, databases and other applications. Disk space usage figures are cached and not live readings. The cache is refreshed once every 4 hours.
For example, if you delete emails from the trash and see the folder is empty, even though the emails are gone and no longer using space, cPanel won't show this change until the cache is updated.
In rare cases, cPanel can sometimes ignore some accounts and you may wish to update this manually.
Manually Update Disk Usage
SSH / Command Line Knowledge Required
This is a more advanced process and requires access to the command line (SSH or Terminal In WHM). Using the command line can be risky if you are unsure of how to use it. Please use caution, or reach out to your local support or our Support team if you need assistance.
Access the command line either by logging in Via SSH or WHM » Terminal
Run the following command:
/scripts/fixquotas -forceDatabase Quota Inaccurate
In rarer some cases, the databases may also display incorrect values and you can update them in a similar way.
Note
As above, SSH / Command line knowledge is required for this.
Access the command line either by logging in Via SSH or WHM » Terminal
Run the following command:
/usr/local/cpanel/scripts/update_db_cache
