This document acts as a repository for a collection of ready-to-go SAU-curated Protection Plan templates.
Protection Plans are the Acronis equivalent of a backup “policy”, “job” or “schedule” found in other data backup solutions.
These plans manage the scope, schedule, retention period and application awareness of your backup tasks, as well as a variety of other more advanced options.
NOTE: At least ONE Protection Plan must be assigned to a registered workload for backups to operate.
We’ve created this collection of plan templates to streamline the Acronis setup process.
However, none of these templates are set in stone! If you want to modify retention or other backup settings, feel free to edit or clone one of these after importing it into your Acronis tenant.
For instructions on importing Protection Plans, refer to this guide:
How to import a Protection Plan
For instructions on cloning Protection Plans, refer to this section of the same guide:

Drop-downs containing a variety of Protection Plans can be found below. These Protection Plans exist as JSON files, and vary by retention period and use case.
The plans are separated into two categories:
Standard Backups - cPanel
As the name implies, these are to be used for any Linux servers running cPanel. These plans are cPanel application-aware, and can be used to more easily restore cPanel users, websites, databases, and emails.
Standard Backups
These are to be used for any other server type, i.e. standard Linux (non-cPanel), or Windows Server.
