This guide relates to restorations within an individual cPanel account or domain using the Acronis Backup plugin.
To begin, visit the cPanel ‘Tools’ page for your relevant site or domain, where you will find ‘Acronis Backup’ highlighted as per below.
Click on “Acronis Backup”:
Click on the backup you would like to restore from. In this example, we will use the latest backup at the top as highlighted in red.

As we want to restore files from your backup, click on the “Files” section:

Navigate to the files or folders you wish to restore and make sure they are selected, an example is below. We can see in this instance I am restore files from the following directory: /acronisexample/public_html
Once you have your relevant files selected and “ticked” you can proceed to press the “Recover” option:
A pop-up box will appear asking if you would like to remove any files not present in the backup.

This is a useful option in cases such as:Your site has been breached, and harmful files have been introduced.
You’ve added a new plugin or theme to your site, which has caused issues with your current files.
You wish to restore the website to an earlier version entirely.
In our example I will take the safest route and select “Delete any files in the original location that were created after the backup” to ensure only known files from the backup exist in the newly restored folder.
When you are ready for the files to be recovered, click the Start recovery button.
We can now see that the task is being completed by the Acronis Plugin as highlighted below:

The status bar will change when the operation is completed to “Succeeded”:
