Installing VMRC (VMWare Remote Console)

Some clients may wish to access their VDC Virtual Machines via the Remote Console rather than the Web Console. This guide provides a link to download VMRC to assist you with using the remote console

You will find that when ou click “LAUNCH REMOTE CONSOLE”, as highlighted below, nothing happens:

This can be remedied by downloading VMRC from the following link:
https://sw-dl.servercontrol.com.au/s_uploads/VMware-VMRC-13.0.0.0.24645870.zip

Once you have downloaded the file, run the install shield by double clicking on it and proceed through the installation with the options shown below.

Install VMRC (VMWare Remote Console):

Double-click the file:

Click “Next”:

Accept the licensing agreement and click “Next”:

Confirm the installation path and click “Next”:

Ensure “Check for product updates on startup” is ticked and click “Next”:

Click “Install”:

Click “Finish”:

VMRC post-install usage:

Now that we have successfully installed VMRC, we can use this on our Virtual Data Center.

Click “LAUNCH REMOTE CONSOLE”:

You will now see this load and pop up a new window, which will give you access to your virtual machine via the remote console:
