# Upload ISOs and Media in VDC

## Uploading Media to your VDC

The Servers Australia VDC environment allows you to upload your own media, such as custom-made or distributed .iso media. You can then mount this media for installation or access.

### Creating a Catalog

1. Navigate to the **Content Hub** Page, then select **Catalogs** -> **New**.

2. Define a name and optional description to be used for the Catalog. For example “**Custom ISOs**”  
![](https://cdn.document360.io/d809f158-d4f4-47ff-83d4-18d9c9f7a04d/Images/Documentation/image-1776820073731.png)Pre-provision on specific storage policy:If you want your catalog to be provisioned on a specific storage policy, for instance your Tier 2 storage, you can enable this option and define it here, alternatively, you can later edit it under **Storage Policies** once created.
3. Once created, click on the name of the policy within **Content Hub** -> **Catalogs** -> and then the name of the newly created catalogue.In our case this is **Custom ISOs:** **![](https://cdn.document360.io/d809f158-d4f4-47ff-83d4-18d9c9f7a04d/Images/Documentation/image-1776820510464.png)**
4. Within the catalog you created, navigate to **Media** -> and click **Add**.

5. The Catalog you are within will already be selected to upload Media into, in this case **Custom ISOs**. You can upload the ISO here, and give it a suitable name and description.

From here, the ISO will now be accessible as a Boot Image when [Creating VMs with a Custom ISO in VDC](/v1/docs/create-custom-vms-with-custom-iso-in-vdc)

Alternatively, these can be attached to a VM via **All Actions** -> **Media** -> **Insert Media** and finding it within the list:

Attachable ISOs:The attachable ISOs are drawn from all applicable Catalogs within your VDC. This will include the default provided ones, as well as your own catalogs. If you want to restrict the search just to your custom catalog, use the **Catalog** column to filter for it.
