# Renaming a database in cPanel

If you need to rename a database, the following guide can be followed, which shares how to complete this.

1. Start by logging into your cPanel account; If you're unsure of the URL, you can try **https://mydomainname.com.au:2083** or access the domain via WHM directly: **![](https://cdn.document360.io/d809f158-d4f4-47ff-83d4-18d9c9f7a04d/Images/Documentation/image-1688121647928.png)**

***If the database is in production, you will need to update any website configuration files accordingly if the old name was referenced.***
