# How to retrieve your cPanel password

> Note: There is no current way to retrieve a password
> 
> Passwords for accounts are set once. If a password is lost, a new one needs to be set via WHM or via the CLI for the server. To reset the password for a cPanel account/user, please reference the [How do I change my cPanel password](/v1/docs/how-do-i-change-my-cpanel-password) article.
