# How to Log in to Remote Desktop

## How to Log in to Windows RDP from Windows Desktop

Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) allows you to connect to a remote Windows machine. This guide will show you how to successfully log in to Windows RDP from a Windows desktop. Follow these steps carefully to ensure a smooth connection.

## Steps to Login

### Step 1: Open Remote Desktop Connection

Begin by opening the Remote Desktop Connection application:

1. Click on the Windows Start menu.
2. Type *Remote Desktop Connection* in the search bar and select it from the list.

### Step 2: Configure Connection Settings

In the Remote Desktop Connection window, configure your connection as follows:

1. In the *Computer* field, enter the IP address or hostname of the remote machine.
