How to Download and Launch the NSX VPN-Plus Client

This guide is designed to introduce to downloading an NSX VPN client. The VMware based NSX client uses SSL VPN, which means connections are made over HTTPS (Port 443). This client software is required when:

1. You have an NSX firewall service and would like to connect via the VPN to access services behind it via a uniquely assigned URL
2. You have a "HADRaaS" service and need to access your services via the URL: https://vcs.hadraas.servercontrol.com.au

You can contact our Support Team via the MySAU portal or 1300 788 862 to request a VPN-Plus user account. 

Once our team have provided you with access, please follow the URL provided to load the login prompt page. It will look similar to the below: 

https://cid-XXXXX-vpn.servercontrol.com.auLog in with your username and password. 

Once you have logged in, you will see a section that prompts you to download the PHAT client. Follow this to download the VPN client software. A download link may appear in a new window. If you don't begin a download, follow the download prompt.

Open the zip folder, and run the nainstaller executable. 

Select Run when prompted to run the file. 

Continue through the installer program. Once complete, you will see the program in your Windows Taskbar, or as a desktop shortcut. 

Run the program, and you will be at a login prompt.
Select Login, and when prompted, enter your assigned username and password. The application will notify you of a successful connection and will be presented on the taskbar.

 You will now be able to:

1. Access your services behind the firewall directly (such as a private IP subnet); OR 
2. If connecting to the HADRaaS VPN, you will now be able to access https://vcs.hadraas.servercontrol.com.au

Disconnect from the firewall by right-clicking the application and selecting Logout.
