# How do I change my email password in cPanel

Your new password will now be updated for the specified email account and old details will now be considered invalid.

> 
> If you have a third-party email client installed on your device/s (Thunderbird, Outlook, iMail etc) be sure to update this in the Mail Configuration Settings. If left unchanged, this can lead to the connecting IP Address being blocked for incorrect mail login attempts and may also affect server access.
