Article summary

This document describes how to configure Debug level logging on the free FortiClient SSL-VPN client.  These logs are useful when debugging issues with the VPN client.

First, you will need to unlock configuration changes on the FortiClient.  Click the lock icon on the top right of the FortiClient.

After clicking the lock icon, it should disappear, and this will allow changing more of the clients configuration options.

Next, click the gear icon on the top right of the FotiClient to access it’s configuration options.

In the configuration options select “Debug” in the Log Level drop down box

This is all that is needed to enable debug level logging in the client.

After debug logging is enabled you can export the logs to provide to our support team.  Make sure you export logs when an issue has occurred after the debug level has been configured.  To export logs, in the same settings area, click “Export Logs”
