What is RADOS Block Device (RBD)? 

RBD is a software that helps store block data in a Ceph storage system. It divides big data into smaller parts and stores them in RADOS. RBD helps store these parts in virtual disk drives all over the Ceph storage system making it highly redundant and keeping performance linear as the platform expands.

Can you use RADOS Block Device for backups?
